Today on the Riverwalk and in the Backyard

Flying debris?!

The Hurricane Helene rains were easy on the Oostanuala basin by comparison to the valleys east of us, but they still scoured the dead limbs from the feeder streams and made great piles against bridges along our rivers, like this mess at the Veterans Memorial Parkway bridge near the stadium.

Sort of temporary fossils? I suppose the leaves got stuck in the silt from the Hurricane Helene rains which inundated parts of the Riverwalk under at least six feet of water. Once the walkway dried I guess the foot traffic and breezes removed the leaves but left their imprints.

Here at the start of the second week in November the "Jubilee Hibiscuses" in my yard are blooming magnificently along with the Miss Huff Lantana.

Anyone who'd like a cutting or two from either is welcome to them before the first frost.

They are both easy to root.

And the Knock-out Roses have decided to bloom again.
