We could feed the hungry in Rome and Floyd County indefinitely off our Canada Geese population. I counted 86 geese this afternoon on the levee between our house and the Turner-McCall bridge. (200 yards?)

In the Denver area, they stopped migrating in the mid-90s and just gravytrain year round now. Protected. Hit one with your car - $500.

We have a flock that lives year round on one of the old bridge supports in the Etowah behind our house.

It is a very "rich" taste. I love it, but can only eat a small portion. In my case, that's a good thing!

Virginia tried harvesting them for a prison population. Seems they are a lot of work per pound. I have fly overs here at first light. Dr. McCorkle at FJC taught me to say "Canada" rather than "Canadian". One of the big jobs of Security was to keep them in the back on the campus.
