We are blessed at Arrowhead to partner with the Berry College Bonner Scholar program. Today was the last day at Arrowhead for Bonner Scholar Sean Manion who graduates soon. Sean has helped us at Arrowhead for three of his four years at Berry. We'll miss him. Justen Booket has finished his first year with us. (Comment from Sean: "Glad we got a photo! It's been a wonderful three years and I can't wait to see how the younger Bonners do as they move on!"

The seedhead on this cattail plant has been drying on the stalk all winter and is now using the wind to send its seeds into the sky in search of new wetland homes.

Valerianella radiata (Corn-salad)

Beautiful large King Snake I found at Arrowhead today.

The 350 acres at Arrowhead include many ponds originally intended for the fish hatchery that was there. Now it is a way station for many waterfowl. Right now lots of ducklings are paddling about.

King Snakes are great animals to have around the house. they are gentle critters... except with mice and other prey, including venomous snakes.

A storm's a comin'.
