Matthew Shaw Lewis is forty years old today.

Matthew's wife, Emily asked us to share a memory of Matthew for a booklet of memories that she is compiling for him. This post is what Sheila and I sent. We could have sent more.

I could have added the story of Star Night. In the early 2000s Matthew helped me schedule and plan Star Night at Berry College's little observatory for our fourth students at Armuchee Elementary School. What a great series of special annual events those Star Nights became for our students and their parents. Matthew and other astronomy students and their professors helped us view the planets and stars through several telescopes, there was storytelling and refreshments and more. Great memories that would not have been without Matthew's help. So happy birthday Matthew and thanks for all the great memories you have been such an integral part of for four decades!
