I am not sure of the date of our overnight hike in the Cohutta wilderness in the mid seventies. My best guess is 1974. Our friend Mike Bock came down from his home in Kettering, Ohio and we invited my younger brother David to join us.
Mike took some pictures and developed and printed them as 8x10s and put them in an album for us. I am writing this in January of 2026 after scanning all the pictures and moving them to a more archive friendly album.

Solomon and Diana were in the states with their two little boys to visit Diana's family in Ohio. We hopped on a plane to Dayton and met Mike Bock then drove on up to visit the Lasois. About 1974 (Do not remember exact date)

| This is the one-room cabin with kitchen/bathroom addition where Sheila and I lived from June of 1972 until some time in 1976. Note: • our 73 ragtop Blazer (the only new car we have ever owned) • the full width screened front porch. • the back side door to the small kitchen. • the old pump atop the often dry well. • the steep hill behind. When we had the property surveyed we discovered the corner of the kitchen in this picture was not on our property! We had to buy a half-acre of the neighbor's land so we could control our own well and back door! |
