Gleaning Facebook: Join Your Local Democratic Party

Dear Facebook friends,

If you are a citizen of our fair county of Floyd, and you generally align yourself with moderate or progressive political views...
• equal rights for all,
• a clean and protected environment,
sustainable growth,
• economics that promote strong business AND strong labor,
• a strong and diplomatic foreign policy,
• a balanced promotion of ALL SIX of the goals outlined in the Preamble to the US Constitution, i.e a better union, justice, peace at home, peace abroad, welfare for all, and liberty now and always,
... then please join the Floyd County Democratic Party.
Membership is $10 per year. We meet the first Saturday of each month (with a couple of exceptions) at Pullen's meeting room at the river end of Broad Street. Park in the gravel lot right next to the Etowah River and come to the big glass door facing the river.
We have a very active, articulate, and dedicated group but as we gear up for very important city races in 2015 and the opportunity to make definitely Rome, and maybe even Floyd County, and more likely Georgia battlegrounds in 2016, everyone who loves his city, state, and country needs to take a stand.
My primary goal is to do what I can to make Town Rome a more competitive precinct. Can you help make your precinct a little more Democratic this year? One thing that is very easy to do: turn over ten bucks and officially join the Party!
Then attend the February meeting. I think you will be encouraged to see what practical, friendly, smart, and principled folk you find there. If you share the Democratic goals listed above, I will surely welcome you with wide-open arms!
