Don't you wish Donald Trump could have had Mr. Rogers in his life as a child. However much we hate the corruption and evil he has caused America, on a personal level it is not hate but pity one must feel for a 73-year-old who knows so little of truth and love and trust and empathy.

Gleaning Facebook: Clem & Chachi
I am a blessed man on my 73rd Thanksgiving Day. I have had a nice long walk under an umbrella in the rain on streets including steep Apollo I've never before walked here in Vista California from Danny & Renata Carlin's house to my grandchilden's home where I sat with Clementine snuggled against me to watch this video over and over and over and over. That little girl loves Chachi! And I've seen it about a hundred times in the last few days, but oh how sweet to sit with this little girl. Lillian and Brannon would also watch videos again and again when they were little. The White Christmas tape (Bing & Danny & Co) --- how many times?!!

| I seem to be the only one awake in the house. Ruth is sleeping in her swing. Bran is napping at the back of the house. Clemmie conked out in Sheila’s lap. Then the lap dozed off. John is conscious, as far as I know, out in his workshop. I need my walk but am afraid both babies’ll wake soon as I leave and Sheila will have her hands full. |

Gleaning Facebook: Bribery
Donald Trump is the most ignorant and corrupt man ever to occupy our unitary executive. Zachary Taylor, Andrew Johnson, and Richard Nixon look like statesmen by comparison. No one is surprised that Donald Trump, who does not read anything more complicated than a "tweet", did not know the Latin term "quid pro quo" which means "this for that". Neither are we any longer surprised that he is so corrupt as to try to extort political aid from a foreign leader in exchange for existential assistance to a struggling ally.
Contrast the venom and lies of Trump, Nunes, Gym Jordan & company with the calmness, patriotism, seriousness, intelligence, and carefulness of the two witnesses and the majority council today.
Impeach and remove this abomination from our White House.

Gleaning Facebook: PrimeTimers & Tall Tales
The PrimeTimers at Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church invited me to tell some lies right there in church today! I had a great time and was pleased to see a few familiar faces. One was Ms. Smart, shown here, the mom of Matthew Smart and Jennifer who were my students back in the early eighties (maybe even ’79?). I also knew their daughter Julie. Mr. Smart was also there, as well as Ms. Thompson, Matthew Scott Thompson’s mom and Terry Simmons who is married to a fellow West Rome High School grad. I should have gotten some other pictures.
I told two stories I often tell when folks ask for tall tales, "Preacher Bailey’s Teeth" and "Yellowtail".
