Signs, Signs, Signs! (and Canvassing)

At seventy-five I can honestly say I have never been so frightened for the future of our republic. The parallels between the fascistic "America First" folks of 2022 and those of the thirties and the forties are very clear. The main difference is that these have a former president and most of a major political party behind them. So I am working to get out the vote for democracy, realizing our chances are not great.

Please go vote for candidates who believe in majority rule and minority rights. That in almost every case means voting for the Democratic nominee.

Sheila and I are both volunteering as canvassers and poll watchers. I have also put up a lot of signs. 88 signs for Warnock, Abrams, and Flowers in one day!

I haven't taken a lot of pics but here are a few.

Allen Babcock manages the Rome office for the Democratic Party of Georgia.

Our nominee for Congress is Marcus Flowers. Marcus has a long association with out area. His dad was a teacher in Cedartown for many years and his sister still works for the Rome City Schools. IF we can get him elected he will work for the 14th district rather than criss-crossing the country like MTG promoting fascism, Putinism, and the Big Lie. That any reasonably intelligent and patriotic person in Northwest Georgia would support Greene is just disgusting.

Canvassing Democratic voters who have not yet cast their ballot I happened upon a vista ...

...of our city I had not seen before and had to take some pictures.

This is the literature we are using this week end. The "Sorry we missed you" is a sticky note. A great improvement IMO over the bulky cardstock stuff we have previously used.
