Trump and Pompeo say the assassination was necessary and justified. That is a possibility, though it is hard to imagine it was the best response to recent provocations. But let us for the sake of discussion imagine that is so: Why the hell didn't Trump follow procedure, call in the eight Congressional leaders who usually are consulted. He would have had their support and a BIG political coup. It was idiotic, divisive, harmful to the US cause to handle it in the usual authoritarian manner of Donald Trump. Donald Trump has NO interest in bringing America together. NO other president would have handled this situation so poorly.

Unfortunately, I believe Trump is in a bad place all around. Our nation may not be able to come together even in a time of war. None of us really know why these actions are taken.
I personally was glad to see that some action was taken. I was sad to see Americans on tv making sure thar Iran knows we are devided. I am glad I am not President and those decisions do not fall on my desk.
Honestly the job is becoming so impossible that finding anyone to take it may become the most difficult chore in the future. We are a country with two distinct faces.

Point taken... but our leaders receive the intelligence that we do not have. So we have no way of knowing. We can only hope and pray they make the correct decisions. If half the country oppose the action because they are insulted by him or disagree with his politics. I am not sure we can defend ourselves as a nation.
This is not pro Trump or anti. It is simply a concern that politics is not a good way to make decisions on national security.
