In East Tennessee, ash is falling from the sky. Mandatory evacuations of several towns, more than a dozen fires in just one county, at least a dozen structures damaged or destroyed.

Heard Gatlinburg is burning…true? Hoping some Downpour reaches the TN, North GA, and Western NC area.

Yes, the city has been evacuated. Not much confirmation on exactly what's burned, but part of the Park Vista Hotel did catch fire and people are having to stay there as the roads all around it are on fire. I would dare say there are multiple structures that will suffer damage, but we may not know that until tomorrow. At least 14 fires are burning in that county. It is raining, but wind gusts are still high and that continues to fuel the fires even with the rain.
