China is spending 9% of their budget on improving infrastructure. Europe 5%. United States: 2.4%.* Our roads, bridges, libraries, schools, ports, mass transit, airports, parks, museums, are deteriorating. Our wealthiest citizens are to be praised and greatly rewarded for their inventiveness and hard work. But don't they owe a big part of their success to the infrastructure of this nation? (And lots of other benefits provided by "we the people" though a government with a charge to promote the general welfare. Won't we lessen the ability of folks to succeed if our national infrastructure is degraded?
* numbers according to Elizabeth Warren (if I understood correctly).
