Gleaning Facebook: Mother's Wall of Pictures

My mother had pictures of all seven of her children framed to match many years ago. The two of Janice and Joan are several years older than the others; the one of David is several years younger. The ones of me, Carol, Debi, and Beth were taken the same day while we were living in Griffin, Georgia. If I remember correctly we walked downtown to have those pictures made, maybe at the Belk-Gallant store? Some these had to be taken at severe angles to avoid drastic reflections and glare off the glass in the frames.

David Baird Shaw is the baby. Before he was born in May of 1958, my father and I painted all of our baby furniture baby blue. Five sisters were enough. It worked. [This is the last of the sibling picture to be taken, perhaps in Ellijay in 61 or 62, or perhaps in Rome in 62 or 63?]

Sharlyn Beth Shaw. I remember this little baby's birth in 1954 in Griffin, Georgia. [This picture was taken the same day as the pictures of Debi, Carol, and Terrell in Griffin, GA about 1956 or 57.]

Deborah Ruth Shaw was born while we were living in the "GI barracks" Wilmore, Kentucky so Daddy could attend Asbury College.  [This picture was taken the same day as the pictures of Beth, Carol, and Terrell in Griffin, GA about 1956 or 57.]

Mary Carol Shaw is closest in age to me and was actually born in a hospital in Atlanta. [This picture was taken the same day as the pictures of Beth, Debi, and Terrell in Griffin, GA about 1956 or 57.]

Charles Terrell Shaw -- Me. [This picture was taken the same day as the pictures of Beth, Debi, and Carol in Griffin, GA about 1956 or 57.]

Lynda Joan Shaw has been the calm, smart center of my siblings. She was born just a few days before the attack on Pearl Harbor. [This picture was taken at about the same time as the photo of Janice, the late forties.]

The leader of our pack and eldest sister Janice Diane Shaw. [This picture was taken at about the same time as the photo of Joan, the late forties.]
