Gleaning Facebook: McCarthy & McConnell should be ashamed.

Occasionally I have to speak out against the evil rampant in Republican leadership. Both of these men know the truth:

Though he was trying to keep Trump from being impeached a few days after the insurrection a year ago, he proclaimed that Trump "bears responsibility" for the attacks and that a "censure resolution" would be prudent. 

Kevin McCarthy has moved far from that position.

So on the anniversary fo the January Sixth atrocity I wrote on my Facebook page:

Kevin McCarthy will go down in American history as one of the slimiest Congressional leaders ever. He saw what happened on this day a year ago. He fruitlessly begged the then-president to act. He condemned the Big Liar's inaction. Then, worried about the Trump-base, retreated. He went to the palace at Maralago to kiss the ring of the monarch-wannabe. And since then he has refused to face up to his duty to America.

Mitch McConnell is only marginally less mucilaginous than McCarthy. Despite his eloquent condemnation of the Great Narcissist after the impeachment trial, he would not support a full investigation and is not in the Capitol to speak of the insurrection on this anniversary. Instaed he is using the funeral of Senator Isakson to be an excuse for ignoring the treachery.

Shame on any American who will not stand up to the Big Lie and the Big Liar.
