For a decade or more EVERY student in my classes learned to spell the "longest word in Webster's Third." I always opened that Monday by announcing good news and bad news: Good - only one word on the spelling list this week. Bad - it's the longest word in the dictionary, pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis.

I think it was the year that you were in my class that I had a student with average or above mental abilities in other areas but a severe disability concerning reading and writing. I allowed him to spell the word orally. I was so proud for him when he did that.

I remember Zack Gibson teaching me this word when he was in 4th grade and I only in 3rd. We were at our sitter's house. He had learned it in your class, Terrell Shaw. So when I got to be in your homeroom and it came that point in time, I had already knew the word.
