Shaw Family Leftover Celebration 2013

Naomi hams and Vicki can't escape. Take a look at that plate!
And we still have about half of the BBQ left!

The Davises minus Mama Lyn. L-R Brianne, Ricky, Natalie, Ethan.

At this point my plate was still on the stack... Sheila Matthews ShawLillian ShawJessica Shaw Rogers

The big back porch tables were crowded toward the house to make room for a working, if small, court for the bean bag game that Gil made for the family to use. Great fun.

John broke out our little-used guitar and even coaxed some music from our out-of-tune piano.

We put the ice cream making operation on the front porch... three flavors. I had Sheila's strawberry, and it was so creamy and had several bits of fresh strawberry in every bite. Delicious!

This conversation on the front walk must have lasted more than thirty minutes. What were y'all talking about?

No shortage of smiles, chuckles, guffaws and general Shaw foolishness and hilarity. We even brought up discussions and even demonstrations of the proper folding of bath towels and the continuing debate over the usefulness of salad forks.

I suppose it's the shelter of the old brick building: this is a dahlia that Mike Bock gave us (just a root then) a decade ago or so. It just keeps coming back year after year. We've planted several others, but they only last a season.

Nice picture. Those are tough Ohio dahlias. I've missed seeing you!
Terrell: Come on down!

I interrupted Sarah's conference with Scout. Is that a million dollar smile, or what?

My baby brother is hobbling around with a medical "boot" and walking cane! My nonagenarian mother gets around better than some of her offspring! I don't know what Beth is pouting about! ðŸ˜‰

My good-looking niece is a little blurry, but I show her off anyway... better ones of Lil are coming...

Tadah!

James had a constant smile until the camera pointed his way...

Got him!

Alex teaches a lesson?

Ethan has a go...

Jan has been to the thrift store again! (Notice the Asbury University A Award -- earned jointly by Debi & Gregg, my fellow Asbury graduates.
