1925 Buffalo Bisons Spring Training, Rome, Georgia

In 1993 Sheila and I bought our old house on Avenue A with its contents. Miss Lillian Weber had lived in our house from 1918 (when she was 18 years old) until her death in 1992. She had worked for many years at the Forrest Hotel. Today I happened upon three photos that I don't remember seeing before. They are of the 1925 Buffalo Bisons baseball team that, according to Miss Weber's notes on the backs of the pictures, used the Forrest Hotel in Rome as their headquarters for spring training that year. Here they are:

"Buffalo ball Players Spring Practice Headquarters Forrest Hotel 1925" (hand written on the back by Miss Lillian Weber

"1925 Spring Practice Buffalo ball Players" (hand written on the back by Miss Lillian Weber. Does anyone recognize the buildings in the distance? I suspect this is also taken in Rome.

I checked online to find out about the team. Here's the 1925 leadership, record, and roster:

Up until 1925 the team played in this stadium:

But beginning in 1925 the team would play in the new concrete and steel Buffalo Base Ball Park stadium which would be renamed Offermann Stadium, in honor of Frank J. Offermann, in 1935.

Does anyone know if this team used Rome for Spring Training in other years?

Can anyone identify any of these players in the pictures?

Is anything known of the one black man in the pictures?

I'd be interested to know anything else about these pictures and the relationship of this team to Rome, Georgia.
