Three hours away from dirty politics...

INTO THE WOODS

Sheila and I took a break from politics and other constructive activities to enjoy the fall foliage on a drive through Gore, Subligna, Villanow, the Pocket and back to Rome. We stopped in the Pocket for a walk along the one-mile interpretive trail there. The prettiest part was the drive from the Pocket along John's Creek. Gorgeous!
I narrowed my 52 pics down to 18 for you:

The west side of John's Mountian along New Armuchee Rd.

Views in the Pocket (Chattahoochee National Forest):

A buzzard smells the injured deer.

Mushrooms on a rotting log.

Nature's stained glass -- sunlight through fall leaves.

The old CCC camp.

A beaver dam.

The little farm, smack dab in the middle of a national forest.

Sheila surveys John's Creek.

The road to the Pocket.
