Gleaning Facebook: Home from the Half-Marathon

Home from Tennessee and the Half Marathon where we strolled for 13.1 miles in a hot sun but a cool breeze with 33,000 of our closest friends. It was fun! Go to Lily's Garden and make a contribution to conquer childhood cancer. https://www.causes.com/fb/do

Haley ran the Kids' race and was awarded this medal.

LOVE this photo! Three gorgeous girls. . . I love all three of you.

Janice Shaw Crouse
Wow -- David's girls (minus the #1) Love those smiles -- beautiful young women!!!

Jessica Rogers
Wow...looking rough. 8am the morning after 13.1 miles is not a good time for pictures.

Beth Shaw
No it isn't Jess - but you are still adorable! All three of you are!

Ruth Baird Shaw
Beautiful! Where is my copy of that picture?

Joan Shaw Turrentine
Oh, I wanted to be there!!! Congrats to all you finishers!

Terrell Shaw
Thanks, Naomi, Nancy, and Joan!

Amanda Hearn Sims
I wish I could have been there! Wonder why they add the .1 mile as if 13 miles isn't long enough lol. I'm so proud of all of you for completing this challenge and for such a wonderful cause!

Terrell Shaw
Having refreshed my memory via Wikipedia:
The distance between Marathon and Athens that Phidippides ran, a few hundred years before Christ, was approximately 26 miles. Later when the modern Olympics came about the distance was changed several times and finally set at 26.2. The half marathon is therefore 13.1.
Ta-dah!

Susan Cherones
YAY YOU!

Terrell Shaw
Thank you Susan! Hope you are enjoying you new home.

Charmaine Yoest
Oh I so wish we could have been there!! Yay for Lily's Garden!

We caught one of the remaining two kittens today. He (or she) is terrified. Delta is the remaining "free" kitten. The trap is out, I hope we catch her (or him) soon.

Ahhh - he/she looks just like Troy. We LOVE the two kittens you brought to us. We got Troy and Snowball a bed, food and water bowls, collars, tags, a litter box and toys today. I'm not much of an animal person, but I love these kittens! What do you figure their birthday is? Lillian said about 4 weeks ago - April 1st. What do you think?

Terrell
Very appropriate birthday. The joke was on me of course!! That's about right.

Deborah Shaw Lewis
Yeah! Delta may be terrified for a short period of time, until he/she discovers that being "caught" was the best thing to ever happen to her/him. Cute, cute kittens!

Terrell
This is not Delta... I have a pic of Delta but havent caught himer yet.

Deborah Shaw Lewis
Ahh, I should never get back up after midnight and write ANYTHING on the internet! So, what have you named this kitten?
