Gleaning Facebook: Spring Wildflowers at Arrowhead

Aesculus pavia (Red Buckeye)

Podophyllum peltatum (Mayapple)
Sarah Anne:
Are these the same things as the maypops? You can eat?!
Terrell Shaw:
What I called Maypop as a kid was Passion Flower (Passiflora incarnate). It has a large seed pod that a ten-year-old can pop under his foot. Mayapple has an edible fruit but I've never heard it called Maypop.

Toxicodendron radicans (Poison Ivy)

Geranium maculatum (Wild Geranium)

Stellaria pubera (Star Chickweed)

Cornus florida (flowering dogwood)
